Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated 2026-10-04

1. Free Tier

The free tier costs nothing, so there's nothing to refund or cancel — you can stop using it any time.

2. Subscriptions (purchased on the web)

Subscriptions purchased on storyloomai.app auto-renew at the price and interval shown to you at checkout, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access through the period you already paid for, and we don't issue partial-period refunds for time you didn't use, except where required by law. Refunds we issue go back to the payment method you used and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.

Free trial conversions. If a free trial is offered, we'll clearly disclose before you start it when it converts to a paid subscription and what you'll be charged, and we will ask you to affirmatively agree to the paid conversion and send you a reminder before the first charge. We will also send you a reminder of the renewal terms at least once a year.

Price changes. If we change the price of a subscription you're on, we'll give you advance notice before the new price takes effect (at least 30 days, by email) and a chance to cancel before being charged the new price.

Cancellation must be at least as easy as signing up. If you subscribed online, you can cancel online, in the same account settings, without being routed to a phone call or a retention flow you can't get past.

3. Story Credits (purchased on the web, one at a time)

Story credits expire one year after purchase. Because generating a story has a real cost to us the moment it happens, a credit that's already been spent on a completed story is generally non-refundable, except:

Unspent credits — never used on any story — are refundable on request within 5 days of purchase; contact support@charlestonapps.com within that window. After 5 days, an unspent credit remains usable until it expires one year after purchase, but is no longer eligible for a refund on request. Consumers in the EU, EEA, and UK have a longer 14-day window; see Section 8.

4. Purchases Made Through the iOS or Android App

Purchases made through Apple's or Google's in-app purchase system are billed, refunded, and canceled by Apple or Google directly, not by us — we don't have the ability to issue a refund for an App Store or Play Store purchase.

5. Buying on the Web Instead of In-App

The app may tell you that buying on storyloomai.app could be cheaper than buying the same thing through the app, and link you there, where Apple's and Google's policies allow it. If you buy on the web, Section 2 or 3 above governs that purchase, not this section — refunds and cancellation go through us, not Apple or Google, because the purchase was never processed by them.

6. Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges

If you believe you were charged in error or charged twice, contact support@charlestonapps.com — this is always eligible for review regardless of which purchase path you used.

7. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first, we may suspend or terminate your account while the dispute is investigated, consistent with our Terms of Service.

8. Consumers in the EU, EEA, UK, and Other Countries With a Statutory Cancellation Right

If the law of the country where you live gives you a right to cancel a purchase within a set period, that right applies in addition to this policy, and where it gives you more than this policy does, it wins. This is how it works for consumers in the European Union, European Economic Area, and United Kingdom:

Nothing in this Section reduces the rights everyone has under Sections 2 and 3, and nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.
